Artificial elite nails can be used to lengthen your nails and make them look longer. They can be very hard on your nails.

Acrylic nails, a type of artificial nail, must be filed to make them stick. This can make your natural nails weaker and thinner. The skin around your nails and other areas can be irritated by the chemicals in products that apply artificial elite nails.

There are many other health hazards that can be posed. You can remove artificial nails by soaking in acetone and filing them off. You will need to touch up your artificial nails every two to three weeks if you plan to wear them for longer than a few days. Regular touch-ups can cause serious damage to your natural nails.

Instead of using acrylic nails, opt for soak-off gel nails. Gel nails are more flexible than acrylic nails and can cause cracking, brittleness, and peeling. Your nails will be less susceptible to cracking.

Instead of using a UV curing lamp, choose a salon that uses LEDs. To harden gel elite nails, you need ultraviolet (UV) radiation. An LED light emits less UV radiation than a UV curing lamp. A LED light cures faster, which decreases UV exposure.

Ask your nail technician if you can skip the cuticle trimming. When you have any manicure, your cuticles will be trimmed. This is a problem. Your nails and surrounding skin are protected by your cuticles. It’s much easier for germs and bacteria to infect your body when you trim your cuticles. It can take time to get rid of nail infections.

Cut cuticles can also feel rough as they grow back. A nail technician might continue trimming your cuticles to maintain a smooth appearance.

For special occasions, reserve artificial nails. Artificial nails can be beautiful, so make sure to reserve them for special occasions. Your nails can heal themselves if you don’t have artificial nails.

  • Trim toenails regularly. To minimize injury and trauma, keep them as short as possible.

Warm salt water is a good option for thickened toenails. Add one teaspoon salt to a pint of warm water, and let sit for five to ten minutes.

Ingrown toenails should not be “digged out”, especially if they have become infected. For treatment of an ingrown nail, consult a dermatologist.

Shoes that fit well are important. Alternate which pair of shoes that you wear every day.

Flip elite nail flops are great for swimming and public showers. This will reduce the chance of infection from a fungus getting in your toenails.
